We accept several types of blankets:

• Quilts​

• Fleece (single layer, tied fringe or crochet borders)

• Knitted or Crochet Afghans (no big loops)

Additional requirements:

• They must be washable

• Handmade from new materials. No used blankets are accepted.

• Minimum size 30" x 30" and no larger than Twin Size

• NO double layered fleece.  Single layer only.

• Tied fleece knots should not be pulled tight.  The blanket should lie flat.

• No Strong Odors including fabric softener/detergent

• No cat or dog hair.  Wash before donating if you have pets.  Place in a scent-free bag right from the dryer.

• No pins anywhere on the blanket including the possibility they were sewn into the quilt.  (double-check before donating)

• Do not pin notes directly onto the blankets you turn in.

• No choking hazards (buttons, ribbons, etc.)

• No metalic thread

• No wool fabric (quilts) or wool yarn (afghans) as it is typically not washable.

• No Large, Loopy Holes  in the Afghans.  Normal holes such as granny squares are accepted.  More dense patterns are preferred so they don't get caught on fingers and hospital cords.

• No tying blankets with  acrylic yarn​.  Cotton or wool holds better or you can use cotton thread.  Tie knots securely.
